And behold there was a woman with a spirit of infirmity, eighteen years… and could in no wise lift herself up (Luke 13:10-17)
An infirmity can be an inability to bring about change or any kind to one’s circumstances.
An infirmity is a sickness.
An infirmity can be an imprisoned mind unable to solve life’s problems.
The spirit of infirmity leaves a woman a victim of circumstance.
The spirit of infirmity leaves her abandoned and alone.
The spirit of infirmity can cripple one emotionally, physically and psychologically.
The sickness is described as a spirit of infirmity. She opens up herself to be bound by Satan “whom Satan hath bound.” A spirit works first on the body in order to captivate and chain the soul. Mental torment destroys the body, causing it to bow down and stoop, oppressive spirits pounding the mind restricting creative thought and emptying the heart of all known faith.
Here’s the good news.
Wherever you are, Jesus is there. Call to him now and he will deliver your soul.
