All hard work brings a profit, but mere talk leads only to poverty. (Prov 14;23).
I went past the field of a sluggard, past the vineyard of someone who has no sense; 31 thorns had come up everywhere, the ground was covered with weeds, and the stone wall was in ruins. 32 I applied my heart to what I observed and learned a lesson from what I saw: 33 A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest— 34 and poverty will come on you like a thief and scarcity like an armed man. (Proverbs 24;30-34)
New year resolutions don’t work, habits do!
Any one can grow a yard full of weeds. Just sit back and do nothing and those weeds will grow by themselves. The things you want from life’s garden require the force of habit. Of course habits take longer to form and require more energy and more discipline, but that’s where the change comes from. Implementing discipline which you did not have and applying ones-self where you once sat back and took it easy. I discovered that the best way to avoid the weeds is to work to plant the good seeds. and make a habit of it. That is, make a daily habit of planting good seeds into your mind, your conversation with others, your writing, your blog, your planning your dreaming, your work and daily employment. It’s your own investment into your own success.
