Q.Should Pastor’s be involved with politics?
A.Jesus said come “follow me” not follow the labor party or the Republican Party or any other party. our devotion must be too him, now that we are called by him. Jesus said, come ye apart and be ye separate, that is separate yourself from the things of the world its influence, ties and association. Thirdly, with the news media in your face online it’s too easy to commentate on its latest what sad, bad and mad in the world and its perspective. We should not be reactive to its opinion, we should set the opinion with the good news we are called to proclaim.
Fourthly, the world’s news can upset our mind, disturb your peace and take away your joy, hence we should not entangle our selves with its garbage media outlet. “Entangle” a word used to describe a pray caught in a hunters trap. “Every one who serves as a soldier keeps himself from becoming entangled in the world’s business–so that he may satisfy the officer who enlisted him.” (World English Bible)…. “For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again “entangled” therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.” (2 Peter 2;20).. “entangled:” ensnared, captivated, become a victim of… we are called to a higher purpose and are not called to be political activists.. Our gospel has enough power to shake and awake the world. Let’s just keep to our assignment.
