Questions for preachers on reading the bible
Do you read the bible as though it means something to you?
Do you proclaim what you belive as though you really believed it?
Do you publicly read the bible intelligently. Thoughtfully? Considering its textual meaning?
Do you read in fear and trembling?
Do you read with restraint. Reserve, respect and awe?
Do you read the bible dramatically and theatrically?
Final thoughts: when a man reads the scriptures just to get the text ‘out of the way’ and ‘move on to what he has to say’ then he no more values the oracle’s of God to do him any good. Its is dangerous to make my words more important than God’s.
