When Moses was born his mother hid him, “she took an ark of bulrushes” and covered it with “asphalt and pitch” (NKJV) and hid him. (Ex 2;1-3) She placed him in an “ark.” Noah was instructed by God to build an “ark” covered with “pitch” (Gen 6;14). Both these arks were placed in water.
The ark and the water is a symbol of water baptism. Preservation and salvation. It was through the ark that’s Moses life was preserved from a wicked Pharaoh and it was through the ark that Noah and his family were saved from the flood that covered the earth. “Doth not baptism now save us?
“The like figure whereunto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ:” (1 Peter 3;21) baptism and salvation are connected, resurrection and baptism are also connected. Baptism is a deliverance.
