But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: (2 Thessalonians 2:17) KJV
‘Chosen you from the beginning for salvation’ (NASB) Chosen to salvation.
Chosen, Selected, picked out from the crowd, God’s choice!
For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know Him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe. (1 Corinthians 1;21).
To save those who believe. those who believe are not the saved but those who believe ‘shall be’ saved (Romans 10:9). Now while believing Get saved.
But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you. (Romans 6:17). What ‘form of doctrine’ do you believe? The doctrine of the Lord, the apostles doctrine what the apostles taught as instructed by Jesus. (Acts 2;42.) The doctrine that is able to save your soul. ‘Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.’ (1 Timothy 4;16).
Chosen!
Chosen as a Minister of the gospel
Chosen as a lamp and a light to the world
Chosen before the foundation of the world (Ephesian 1:4)
for Salvation
How do I get this work done?
Ephesians 3;20
Why was i chosen
Because like the scripture we have read says, ‘chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth’ or we could say because you are a ‘lover of truth.’
Those who love the truth, hate error and every false way (Psalm 119:104)
Those who love the truth purify themselves, ‘Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere brotherly love, love one another earnestly from a pure heart,’ (1 Peter 4:22).
Those who love the truth Get Gods heavenly approval. ‘Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth’ (2 Timothy 2;15).
Those who love the truth correct themselves when their doctrine is wrong
Those who love the truth love and preach the ‘common salvation.’ the salvation that was commonly preached by the apostles, ‘Beloved, although I was very eager to write to you about our common salvation, I found it necessary to write appealing to you to contend for the faith that was once for all delivered to the saints.’ (Jude 1;3)
Those who love the truth are called unto Salvation (2 Thess 2:17).
Paul.
