How to break free from joy robbing legalistic thinking |
I’m a believer, passionate about Jesus, but I’m in hospital on dialysis machine, fighting for my life. The treatment stops and I go online with my laptop, looking at an apostolic ministers discussion forum, the posts read. “How do we effectively minister to the sick without condemning them for not being well ?”
I can’t believe what I read.
Do I respond!
I decided not too.
I preach healing, divine healing. I have seen folks made whole by the power of the Lord yet today find myself in the state of being sick.
I have to ask why would you think of condemning one who is sick, Has he sinned? Even if he has sinned what right have we to condemn a sick brother or sister
Jesus saw a blind man who was blind from birth and His disciples asked Him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” 3 Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but this happened so that the works of God would be displayed in him.…(John 9:2).
This man’s sickness was not a result of sin, but rather that the works of God would be revealed. now I take comfort in that. I take comfort the fact that my guilt and condemnation, my sickness too was put on Jesus, I can declare by his stripes I am healed I am healed, I can declare there is therefore now no condemnation to those Christ Jesus. His ministry is a ministry of no condemnation. (Romans 8:1).
Friend if your intuit play of sickness today, take note, the works of God are not sickness the works of God are healing deliverance salvation, freedom from guilt and condemnation. Believe it. He was condemned that I might be free.
Let go of any legalistic thinking do not let it grip your mind with guilt that’s what legalism does it leaves a man with guilt. salvation leaves a man with hope for it leaves him with Jesus, legalism leaves a man with a sin consciousness, the gospel leaves a man with a God consciousness. a righteousness that replaces condemnation. In him we live move and have our being. I’m his and he will take care of me!
