…12remember that at that time you were separate from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of the promise, without hope and without God in the world. 13But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far away have been brought near through the blood of Christ. 14For He Himself is our peace, who has made the two one and has torn down the dividing wall of hostility… (Berean Standard).
Strangers, separated form Christ, Aliens, Alienated from the Kingdom and its commonwealth, Strangers to the Covenant, and if that’s not all Paul describes us as Without hope and without God in this world. This is the state of the unbeliever, what a mess. No one is as dead as a living soul without Christ. Friend you may think you have life, but you have nothing if you have not the life of the creator in you. Think of this not only are you separated from life but you are an enemy of God. and yes and, dead in trespasses and sins! Selah (Paul and quietly think of this).
But Paul offers us the other side of the coin.
But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ. (Ephesians 2;13). This is the power of the blood. for where there is blood there is remission of sins. 3He who forgives all your iniquities and heals all your diseases, 4who redeems your life from the Pit and crowns you with loving devotion and compassion, 5who satisfies you with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.… (Psalm 103;4). what a transformation, only God can take a wild man and change his from the inside out into a new man. Only God can take an alien and make him a friend. Only God can take a stranger and make him a follower, an advocate a preacher a promoter of the gospel. Only God can wash away a mans sins and re-make him as if he never had a past to begin with. Only God can do that!
Sin being punished the soul now free, pardoned form all unrighteousness, God makes peace with man and the man is at peace with God. I will make an everlasting covenant with them where the un-elected become the elected. I will make an everlasting covenant with them. Like the prodical son who returns back home to his Father, he gives you the key to his place, the treasures of his are now yours he heaps pearls upon you, ‘Son all I have is thine.’ Love Joy hope, is yours, redemption is complete sins are forgiven, heaven comes to earth for you.
This then is the joy of our redemption.
