2. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:
3. Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;
4 Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with loving kindness and tender mercies;
5 Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
(Psalm 103)
“If only I had my time over!” you hear folks say.
“If only God would change my life?”
He can and he will!
David was so restored in his soul that he grew young again and could mount up to the task before him as an eagle possessing fresh faith, a new perspective and capacity for more. He who said his days were consumed as smoke in the previous chapter, here declares that his youth is renewed like the eagles. He who said that his heart was so stricken that he forgot to eat bread (102:4) here declares that the Lord satisifes his mouth with good things. He who sat moping with the owl (102:6) here flies with the king of the birds of prey. He who said his life is but a shadow (102:11) here declares that the Lord redeems his life from destruction.
Total life transformation in a day! For that I must stand up and shout, “Bless the Lord O my soul.” Change is coming my way, today!
Paul.
I really needed this today. This is also my prayer. Thanks Paul!
