I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I that live but Christ that liveth in me (Gal 2:20) As you know, Jesus didn’t die for us to celebrate events each year. Christianity was never designed by God to be a religion of events. I find being religious hard for then I try to follow traditions and rules and yes, fail! However I know that being a Christian is not about observing days but about living the Christ-life every day.
For they that are of the flesh do mind the things of the flesh, but they that are of the Spirit do mind the things of the Spirit (Rom 8:5)I don’t live for a day, I live in him. It’s in him I live and move and have my portion of the resurrected life. Its a daily thing! not once a year observation.Through his baptism we enter into his death, through his baptism we receive his Holy Ghost and so enter into the new life, not one of ceremonies and dates but one of life and resurrection
Why celebrate the resurrection once a year when I can live the resurrected life, all the time!
I’m not against easter but like Christmas it’s not a God thing, its man-made thing, an observance that has decieved many from the real meaning of Christ’s death and resurrection. Thats why many are defeated and dead. They want to find life in a cermony rather than in Christ. Now I will enjoy going to church but thats not my point!.
Easter is a man-made ceremony, the resurrection life however is a daily lifestyle. Dare to live the resurrected life, moment by moment everyday! Its ok to observe a day, but its better to live it! That’s what makes Jesus different from all other god’s and Christianity unique from all other religions….. We don’t celbrate feasts, traditions and days. He is our feast he is our day, he is our life, and he is our event. What A life! Thats resurrection, every day.
Paul.
How wonderful the Christian life we live — we live the resurrected life everyday because we are in Christ, and Christ lives in us. Christ is our all in all.
Thank you for the truth! Traditions of man is what has caused lot’s of problems in the church. This is why there is such a lack in new converts in the USA. Traditions! People love them and live to observe them. Christ should be observed everyday. His resurrection should be observed everyday. That’s who you and I are. Tell the truth and the truth will set people free. Thank You Paul!
Let the Church say “Amen!” Thank you for saying so. I wholeheartedly agree and I published a similar newsletter years ago that taught this very same truth. Keep standing up for the Truth! Keep Speaking up for Genuine Salvation & Keep Looking up to God through Christ Jesus! [I would love to re-post this on FaceBook as well as on my blog and I would love to feature this post for the upcoming Sabbath Day Message.]
