Now the Word of the Lord came to Jonah the Son of Amittai saying, Arise go to Ninevah, that great city, and cry out against it for their wickedness has come up before me. … but Jonah arose to flee to Tarshish from the presence of the Lord.. (Jonah1:1,2)
What are you running from that God calls “great?” (1:2)
What makes you run, what causes you to head the opposite way? (1:3)
What city is worshipping “worthless idols,” fake, false, man-made gods (2:8).
What misery are you experiencing through disobedience (4:3).
Verse ten of chapter three tells us that God relented from the disaster he would have brought upon them, yes disaster. Before a city looses its reputation and prosperity, its first loses its Prophet and its voice. Before economic recovery there must be a rise to Godliness, a prophet must go and speak God’s word, and reveal that salvation (deliverance, prosperity, recovery) is of the Lord (2:9). Economic downturn needs the prophet to return. Part of the cities recovery, is simply this, YOU got to go!

Praise the Lord Paul. This is great and it is exactly to the point of ours or any nation’s problems. I wrote on this very topic over 8 years ago in my first book entitled “God Is Apostolic” – published by Publish America – ISBN: 1-4137-3402-2. Although my first book is rather amateurish, some of its chapters are timeless and prophetic, namely the chapter entitled “A Call To National Repentance/A Christian Commentary” – page 143. I’ve been challenging the immorality and lack of integrity in the Christian Church and in our nation for some time. Needless to say, my voice is hardly heard. Nevertheless, I continue to write. I just received my copyright for my second book and it promises to be a little more professional and reader friendly than the first.
